South of campus along Wonder World Drive, the cross-town route that lets you skip I-35 entirely. The second largest district in the city and the most mixed: older garden communities, recent construction, and a good share of the market-rate family stock in San Marcos. Ten minutes to campus without living in the student belt, close to the grocery run and the south-side retail, and quieter at 2am than anywhere north of the river. You drive, but you drive on surface streets rather than the interstate.
