This is where price and location meet: five to ten minutes to the square, immediate highway access for anyone splitting time between Austin and San Antonio, and consistently softer rents than campus or downtown. The neighborhood runs renter-heavy and mixes long-term residents with students. One thing to check before you sign, and it is real here rather than a formality: river-adjacent addresses can fall inside a floodplain, which changes what renter's insurance costs.
