The belt of purpose-built student housing running northeast from campus along Aquarena Springs Drive and Post Road, and by a wide margin the largest concentration of rental inventory in San Marcos. Almost everything here leases by the bed rather than by the apartment, and that is the single most important thing to know before you compare a price to anywhere else in town. Furnished units, roommate matching and August lease starts are the norm, and so is a shuttle to campus. If you are not a student this is still worth a look in the summer, when operators get realistic about unfilled beds.
